The vision for this remodel was to excavate the original bones of the house from beneath layers of adjustments and additions over the last three decades. Much of the structural effort for this project was the insertion of braced frames into existing walls to allow for the interior spaces to be opened up. This reordering of the structure allowed for layers of transparency and reflection to create a nuanced interior character while connecting with the expansive views across the bay.

Defining structural features include a smoked glass stair and bridge , a glass pavilion with supported by slender sculptural columns, and an extensive system of precisely detailed aluminum and wood screens that wrap around the exterior, launching off the building in enormous double cantilevers.
